MessageMr. Speaker,

This is an absurd proposition. Do the socialists really believe that you can ban the CR because you disagree with them?

I yield.

MessageOOC: Anything like this would require a 2/3rd vote. Although it cannot be targeted against any particular player or party and must be directed at an action or ideology.

For example. You could ban and have enforced by moderation that there are no communist parties or republican parties in Luthori. Players must either choose to re-brand, fight a realistic civil war (which in our case would be a riot with sticks), or disband (either willingly or by Moderation). Another would be that any vote brought forward to remove the monarchy that fails would result in either an RP or disbandment by moderation.

Again, however, it cannot be targeted.

Now I don't believe you meant it to be here and while ignorance of the rules not an excuse, I don't believe you, LUP, were meaning to be malicious. Therefore, I am getting ahead of anyone "over blowing" this and calling Moderation by pointing this stuff out here and now. In the future please keep this in mind, for I don't want to have to deal with moderation investigating over something like this in our current era of "crazy internal politics."

IC:

Mr. Speaker,

This is a pointless waste of time.

I yield.

MessageOOC: I believed it was possible to ban a single party, and no, I wasn't trying to target the CR as a player

MessageMr Speaker,

The Communists prove who they really are here! Trying to ban me and my party. taking away the power from our voters. How dare you and what gives you the right? Never have i ever been so shocked in my life. We are a democracy! Not your little dictatorship!

MessageOOC: You can, but it would have to be ideologically based or actions based. Like my example. If I banned all communist parties, and you are the only communist party it is targeting a single party, but also leaving room for you to change your character per se. It was more your word choice in this that made it wrong, not the objective you were trying to achieve (in my opinion).

MessageOOC: well I'll think about that in the future then, and I'll say it, I am sorry CR, I did something wrong and I'll try and make sure I keep my side of the OOC tension down...

MessageJust to clarify matters in terms of the Game Rules here (see http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=6363)...

There are two particular considerations to take into account in section 22 on RP laws. The first is:

"22.4 The following types of RP law are specifically identified as laws which will be enforced by Moderation:

22.4.1 RP laws which, with substantial and convincing role-play justification, impose measures against specific parties or types of parties or characters and types of characters. This may include banning a party or arresting and punishing a character. "

So a party can be banned, but to do so requires substantial and convincing role-play justification.

Also bear in mind this:

"22.3 The following types of RP law are specifically disallowed and will be considered void:

[...]

22.3.6 RP laws which are motivated primarily by antagonism towards another player."

So you can't ban a party just because you have an issue with the player who is behind it.

It looks like this bill is going to fail anyway, but you might want to bear all of this in mind for future reference.

Any questions/concerns, please don't hesitate to ask.

Regards,

Aquinas

Random fact: It usually takes up to an hour for election results to generate. During this time, the "Next Election" date is put forward a month, which is confusing. Do not worry! In a short time, the election result will generate and the "Next Election" date will then correct itself.
