Bill: National Emergency Procedures (2174)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Deltarian Nationalist Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2176

Description[?]:

The government in times of crisis (riots etc...) should be allowed to clear the streets at night, this would help in protecting our officers and also speed up the process of ending the riots. Curfew time could be set to 9pm and anyone out on the streets after that time without a valid reason (medical emergency) would imprisoned for the night and later fined.

MessageWe would point out to those voting against this bill that these powers would only be instigated in a national emergency and so would be used to protect the safety of the populace. They would not effect the population on a day-by-day basis.

We would, however, as the HPP have requested, like to discuss specific details on instigation and control of curfews, to be added in a further resolution.

MessageIs there already a resolution on what counts as a national emergency? If not that should also be discussed to prevent any abuses of government.

Random fact: Players who consent to a particular role-play by acknowledging it in their own role-play cannot then disown it or withdraw their consent from it. For example, if player A role-plays the assassination of player B's character, and player B then acknowledges the assassination in a news post, but then backtracks and insists the assassination did not happen, then he will be required under the rules to accept the validity of the assassination role-play.
