Message | Disagree, this law will be used against the workers' movement |
Date | 12:51:32, January 24, 2006 CET | From | Jakanian Democratic Socialist Party | To | Debating the Emergency Safety Act |
Message | How? This law is for the safety of the workers in a time of emergency and/ or disaster and only in that time. The CCCP proposes this for the safety of the people, not to restrict them. Fear mongering, and paranoia is no way to insure the safety of Jakanians. |

Message | I think this local law could be used against the people by certain local bodies, i im unsure but am inclined to disagree |
Date | 21:07:24, January 24, 2006 CET | From | Jakanian Democratic Socialist Party | To | Debating the Emergency Safety Act |
Message | Considering the fact that Jakania is a democracy, it is unlikely that anyone in office will use this bill for anything other than public safety. |
Date | 05:05:49, January 25, 2006 CET | From | Libertarian-Socialist Coalition | To | Debating the Emergency Safety Act |
Message | Unfortunately, it's unclear as to whether something such as, say, "possibility of public rioting" or "threat of teen pregnancy" could be construed as a legitimate state of emergency. But, given that we allow freedom to assemble and also that no authoritarian party is or will likely ever hold majority power in this country, we can reasonably assume that curfew powers will only be used when absolutely necessary and not be an abused privilege of government. |
