Bill: Books For All! ...act 2

Details

Submitted by[?]: Libertarian-Socialist Coalition

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2175

Description[?]:

In light of a more favorable political environment, we wish to reintroduce our previous bill to allow local decisions regarding libraries.

Simply put, it is a shame that our nation refuses to promote literacy and education amongst those who simply cannot afford to go to a bookstore to be able to read. Libraries provide a positive effect on the communities that they are in, notably with promoting children to read and research effectively.

This bill will allow local governments to determine library funding. If a region chooses democratically not to have libraries, then so be it. If they see the positive benefits of libraries, then they can be given the option to fund libraries. This would be a moderate step that would also not inflate the size of the federal government.

If you believe in our children and the potential to broaden horizons through books, then please vote yes.
If you believe that reading is a privilege bought with money, vote no.

MessageThe national government doesnt know the needs of every region, which is why those regions themselves should decide what to do with their library system.
