Bill: Progressive Income Tax Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: SLP-Libertarian Alliance

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes to change income taxes. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 4020

Description[?]:

We came up with this as a compromise. We crunched the numbers and this will go with our current spending plan that has been proposed, leaving about a billion BEL left as a surplus. We feel that this is a better proposal that gets us the best of both sides of the isle. We would like to work together, that is what we need right now. Again, we will never accept spending cuts, we will only accept a compromise like this.

MessageThe National Front refuses to accept this. We warned about trying to increase spending when the tax bill had no passed the parliament. The Social-liberal party did not listen and has caused a budget defect. This tax proposal is worse than the start point. So the left is trying to trick every other party by trying to force down higher taxes on everyone despite this party warning them that their proposal will not work because of the change of taxation.
This is not a comprise, this is daylight robbery by increasing taxes on the poorest. The Finance Minister will be proposing a new spending bill that we urge every party to back.

MessageHow is this progressive? This simply taxes everyone more, INCLUDING the poor. You should have waited for the NFP's spending plan to be proposed, or at the very least considered their tax cut and we would not have been in such a prediciment as this, where your plan has put us into a deficit.

This is very wreckless and no party should propose an opposing plan before one has been defeated or passed.

MessageLook, Income taxes on the poor are still lowered, and we keep our spending with this bill. Not to mention, your rich friends get more money. Everybody wins here. This also doesn't mention the fact that this does not rely on Trickle Down economics to work. I could cut the poorer taxes more, but these conservatives that represent the rich are going to have to accept these taxes.
