The current laws on firearm ownership are too strict. If someone wishes to engage in recreational shooting at a shooting range, hunting of invasive pests damaging our ecosystem or for defence of themselves and their property the government should not prevent them from doing so, given that they are not a danger to themselves or others. |

Current: Adult individuals may own guns under strict license conditions.
Proposed: Individuals are allowed to own firearms as long as they do not have a history of dangerous mental illness or a violent criminality.
