We aim to make guns totally legal. In the meantime, we offer a compromise. We shall make guns legal, but only with firearm safety tests and license information taken beforehand. Message | What good, exactly, would full legalisation do? |

Message | Well we believe that ownership of weapons is neccessary for one main reason - defence. This can come in three forms: -defence from crime -defence from totalitarian regime -defence from invading armies In the last two cases, government records can endanger this freedom. A would-be dictator has at his fingertips the identity of every weapon-owner and therefore the means to stop them and achieve total dominance. Invading armies are in fact trained to track down this information almost as soon as they are in nations with legal guns. Anyway, that is simply our point of view. We dont feel it is neccessary for this debate. |

Message | Would you rob a gun-owners house? Under the lisencing laws, the gun owner would have to qualify to ensure they know how to use the guns responsibly. This would minimise accidents. Oi, Stalinists. If you vote yes here, I will support you on a different bill. |

Message | Can you do that? Well I'll change my vote and when I next propose a bill you better keep your word. |

Message | Yes, and this bill is about strict licensing. |
Date | 23:12:07, May 24, 2005 CET | From | Alorian Communist Party | To | Debating the Gun Licensing Laws |
Message | For the record, this bill creates strict firearm laws. We may in the future try to make guns more available but at the moment this debate focuses on the fact there will be tests and licenses. |
