Bill: Istalian-Kalopian Friendship

Details

Submitted by[?]: Alleanza di Centro Democratico

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 4034

Description[?]:

While we agree with and admire the ideal behind this treaty, drafted 30 years ago by the Communists, we take issue with the extent and reach of the restrictions set forth in the agreement, as, too, it would seem, does the Kalopian government, which has neither ratified the treaty nor complied with all of its articles. We hope to revisit this agreement alongside our Kalopian allies, and have made contact with their foreign ministry regarding this issue, but have in the meantime decided to consult our fellow parties.

MessageWe, the ISP, thank the government for bringing to the attention of Parliament this thirty-year treaty which, if once had reason to be, today greatly restricts the economic and social possibilities of the entire population and forces the State to assume the enormous costs of managing activities which divert funds to the most important sectors of the national welfare and could be managed more efficiently, but with the necessary regulations, by the private sector.

Hoping in the future to be able to intervene in the following areas:
-Eminent demain
-Government policy on energy generation.
-Government policy on the nation's power grid.
-Government agricultural and farming subsidies policy.
-Commercial fishing regulation.
-The government's policy concerning phone services.
-Funding of public transport.
-Public works initiatives
-Train Operating Companies (TOC)

We support the proposal of government to withdrawal from this Treaty which it represented an imposition only for Istalia and to and to modernize and develop the Italian economy.

MessageOOC: PCI only proposed this after I left Istalia for Kalopia in the 3990s, after we got along so well in-game in Istalia. I rejected it back then, and it was only passed because of PCI's supermajority here. It holds little to no meaning, as demonstrated by the fact that it has never been ratified by Kalopia.

Random fact: Particracy allows you to establish an unelected head of state like a monarch or a president-for-life, but doing this is a bit of a process. First elect a candidate with the name "." to the Head of State position. Then change your law on the "Structure of the executive branch" to "The head of state is hereditary and symbolic; the head of government chairs the cabinet" and change the "formal title of the head of state" to how you want the new head of state's title and name to appear (eg. King Percy XVI).

Random quote: "If you have an apple, and I have an apple, and we exchange the apples, then you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea, and I have an idea, and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas." - George Bernard Shaw
