MessageWe believe that all workers, regardless of their position, should have the ability to strike. A worker that decides to go into a certain field should not have their voice silenced.

MessageWe agree all workers should have the ability to strike. However we believe some, if their service is ESSENTIAL to society, such as prison guards, policemen, and so forth that they should at least ensure minimal service to keep things ticking along adequately. Do the Social-Liberals believe policemen and firefighters should be allowed to go fully on strike without ensuring any service whatsoever?

MessageHowever, that completely destroys the point of them going on strike. We believe that no one's voice should be diminished. Striking is an essential part of the fight for workers rights. It is one of the few tools they have to fight back with and we will not let it be taken away.

MessageSo you're saying that strike rights are more important than the safety of our people?

MessageYou make that imply that we would rather see people dead when all we want is to see that workers don't have their rights violated. We care for our citizens safety, but we also care for a worker's right to fight for better pay, benefits, etc. Workers need the threat of strike to help them fight to improve conditions.

MessageWorkers include policemen, firefighters, paramedics and soldiers. If they all went on strike there would be chaos.

MessageWe believe that they should have the ability to fight for improved conditions. The strike is a major tool for improving conditions. We feel that any worker deserves the ability to take action to improve their working condition.

MessageThey can take action whilst still assuring minimal service.

Answer the legislature this question. Do you think all policemen, firefighters, doctors, soldiers and so forth should all be allowed to fully strike, leaving such essential services unworkable and inefficient, endangering peoples lives?

MessageLook, we believe that a strike is the best way to improve conditions and we should not restrict that right to any worker. If they don't have that right, than answer me this, how can they fight against poor conditions?

MessageThey can fight against poor conditions by doing less work than usual as a form of strike, all this reform asks for is minimal service to keep things working safely.

MessageHowever, that removes the main power of a strike, making it effectively worthless. We feel like we have to protect out workers' rights.
