Message | We strongly support all articles except articles 4 and 6. We support the current policy on international trade. It is essential to maintaing a certain leverage in the world markets, being able to protect our economy. In regards to article 6, we support the stance "All refugees are welcome, regardless of their reason, and given aid in integrating them into the country." These people have been through enough hardship, and a limited amount of government aid to help get them situated and started in a new country is the moral, compassionate thing to do. |

Message | We thank NDP for their support for the majority of this bill. We also agree that "All refugees are welcome, regardless of their reason, and given aid in integrating them into the country," but since we are currently restricted by the "Intervention Treaty," that policy choice is not an option. As a result the best we can do is welcome all refugees without aid unless we withdraw from the "Intervention Treaty." We understand your concerns with international trade and while we disagree with you, we will move that article into a different bill. |

Message | We do not support Article 1. While we support the motive behind this proposal, we hold the position that foreign ambassadors and missionaries should maintain documentation with our internationally-facing body. While we do support having pragmatic limitations to the immigration to our country, and to the standard required for the privileges of citizenship, we do agree that administering a test for national admittance and for citizenship opens the door for corrupt practices and preferential restriction. We will vote in favor of this bill, hoping that there will be future support for Ministry documentation. |
