Description[?]:
I have updated the Istalian Civil War article further (http://tinyurl.com/IstalianCivilWar), and I recommend giving it a quick skim-through if you want to keep up with the latest developments. Basically, the latest twists in-story is that Battisti met Luigi Bossi (a new character; the leader of the Istalian People's Brigades) in the 3990s, when they were both members of the now-defunct Istalian Communist Party (PCI). While Battisti joined the army in 3995 and left the PCI, Bossi remained in the PCI and even served a term in Parliament. In 4020, Bossi helped set up the People's Brigades (BPI), and was therefore expelled from the party and targeted by the police. Before they got him, however, he disappeared (helped into hiding by Battisti, his old friend?). Of course the whole hiding and Battisti's connection was completely unknown to the public. In exchange for having protected Bossi and his inner circle, the People's Brigades helped Battisti take out political opponents on a few occasions between 4021 and the 4030s -- but since Battisti was relatively low-profile in the 4020s, few suspected that he could have much to do with Bossi. Therefore, assassinations and kidnappings carried out by BPI for Battisti had seemed like coincidences, until they intensified in late 4030s and climaxed with the 4039 Merchant Massacre. In 4045, the Battle of Romula (part of the wider 4044-4045 civil war) leads to the destruction of much of the city, with tens of thousands of casualties. Meanwhile, Battisti is hiding, locked down in a bunker with his wife (full Hitler style, even with a 1945-sounding date of 4045 :P) and is captured by pro-democracy rebels on 17 June 4045, which concludes the civil war (this could be a new national day, maybe? "Peace Day" or similar). We should write a movie together, haha :') I suggest that one of you (since you're the winners of the war) write a statement or something in 4045, declaring Battisti captured, the PDS banned and democracy restored. Like I've mentiond before, the 4046 elections would be conducted with Battisti-era rules, and democratic reforms would be carried out in the 4046-4050 parliament. In that 4-year period, we could come up with whatever changes we want to the constitution; there's no need to go back to exactly the same system as before, if you're keen to change anything. Luigi Bossi's wiki article: http://particracy.wikia.com/wiki/Luigi_Bossi I'll put this to a vote, but feel free to come with comments or input or anything here later. |

Message | OOC: it's perfect and i think that tomorrow I can write this statement, declaretion, etc... (now we are still in april) to declare the end of the Civil War. I think that Alessandro Senna, as PM of the last two government democratically elected, leader of the party that won the last democratic elections (twice in a row), can assume the role of leader of democratic front against the dictature. |

Message | OOC: I agree, I've written him in as sort of the main pro-democracy figure. |

Message | OOC: Agreed. Senna has the most leadership credibility. With Bossi killed, what will become of the BPI - will it be destroyed entirely or will remnants survive in one form or another in hiding? |

Message | OOC: I don't know, but I guess we could just as well keep it in hiding after the civil war; we never know when we could use it again ;) |
