Bill: Defense Industries Reform Act 4048

Details

Submitted by[?]: Imperial Conservative Union (IA)

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 4048

Description[?]:

IC: Proposing a compromise to the previous proposal. Certain defense industries will receive subsidies.

OOC: This is somewhat redundant as the contracts alone would provide them more than enough money, but alas if this is what is needed to pass and "free" more of the defense budget then so be it.

MessageMr. Speaker,

If I may ask, what about the jobs that are already being created by the dual system of state owned defense industry and private defense industry. By shutting down the state owned plants, those jobs may be lost. This is not a time, where many of our duchies have a 8% unemployment rate to possibly put more people out of work.

I Yield.

MessageOOC: Ignore the economic system. It is broken. The forums has the listing of how economies are ranked though as we are a member of the RP Accords, we follow them.

IC:
Mr. Speaker,

Considering the states industries are relatively new, they would be sold to the private and employees if laid off would be compensated. There is no reason to have both State and Private Defense industries the state sets the parameters and gives the contracts. In other words we let the private companies take the cost of meeting the products we want.

I yield.

I yield.
