Bill: Organ Donations Should Be Made Mandatory
Details

Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 4051
Description[?]:
The amount of lives that we could have, should have, and would have been saved or positively effected if the organs they required were available and/or there wasn't a shortlist would have shot up if Organ Donation was Mandatory. No disrespect to the dead or to anyone affected by the loss of a loved one, but what use does a corpse have with working kidneys that somebody just down the road in a hospital needs? Do we value the life and well-being of a live person, or the immoral, yet ironically moral, "disturbance" of a corpse, that if I may add again, will save lives. |

Message | I agree that that by sharing organs, we can share lives and share our families for generations to come. But let me be clear; is it acceptable, moral and socially the correct action to take to force everyone to sign up to this pledge, without any consideration of their religious or simply personal beliefs. Instead, what about a system which signs everyone up from a certain age, allowing the people the opportunity to opt out of the scheme if they felt it was necessary. Wouldn't that be a fairer way to run a crucial, much-needed and positive journey? |

Message | I'm sure, like with many laws, a few exceptions can be made for religion especially. But, answer me this, is a human life, a functioning body with a current and active brain, more or less valuable than that of a deceased citizen of this Nation? |

Message | We can not support this bill. We should listen to the family and the personal wishes of the deceased. |

Message | What about the families in constant stress over the fact they, or a family member, are on hospital on a waiting list too long for them? |
