Bill: OOC/RP Clarke-Vodecko National Convention

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 4123

MessageWe have results coming in from the National Convention and the first round results are as follows:

2001 delegates needed to win
Delegates are bound to a particular candidate

Romanovic: 1420 (35.5)
Ueli: 950 (23.75)
Furgenster: 900 (22.5)
Hartmann: 678 (16.95)
Lord Henry: 29 (0.73)
Florea: 23 (0.57)

No candidate has a majority of the delegate votes, so this will go to the second round. The results of the first round were surprising, as Ueli was expected to get more delegates than 950. Also, Hartmann was expected to gain more and these losses for both candidates might be because of a brewing sex scandal involving the two candidates. Many Ueli delegates accused Romanovic of being "corrupt" and rigging the elections in favour of himself to try to get to the majority of votes as soon as possible

Ueli: 1000 (25.0)
Lord Henry: 88 (2.2)
Hartmann: 67 (1.68)
Florea: 20 (0.49

No candidate has a majority of the delegate votes, so this will go to a third round. Romanovic, Ueli and Furgenster all made ganis, while Hartmann was hardly hit by the increasing serious sex scandals involving him. Lord Henry, a dark horse candidate, surprisingly rose to fourth place and he was seen talking with moderate Ueli delegates and moderate Romanovic delegates, trying to get their support for the third round. If Lord Henry is successful, we might see the first moderate conservative being elected as party leader

Surprisingly, PM Furgenster was elected as the new party leader of the BPDP, defeating Romanovic. His surprise victory might have been due to the poor election results, which might have swayed delegates in Furgenster's favour due to their opposition of Romanovic's fairly moderate stance and poor decisions. The Joint Party Leader election will also be held shortly

Ventura: 778 (19.45)
Davidson: 750 (18.75)
Varman: 500 (12.5)
Ewan: 257 (6.42)

No candidate has a majority of the delegate votes, so this will go to the second round. The results of the first round were surprising, as Henning was expected to get more delegates than 935. Ewan: 10 (0.25)

No candidate has a majority of the delegate votes, so this will go to a third round. Henning, Davidson and Ventura all made gains, while Antoni was criticially hit by increasing serious sex scandals involving him. Ventura, a surprisingly unknown figure in the party, surprisingly gained a lot of delegates, although there were sex scandals involving her and she was seen talking with moderate Davidson delegates and moderate Henning delegates, trying to get their support for the third round. If Ventura is successful, we might see the first transgender woman being elected to the position of Joint Party Leader

Antoni: 20 (0.5)
Varman: 5 (0.12)
Ewan: 5 (0.12)

No candidate has a majority of the votes, so this will go to a fourth round. Henning and Davidson slightly dropped in vote share, while Ventura gained 5.05% of the delegates. Antoni, Varman and Ewan were hit badly and they all announced their withdrawal from the Joint Party leadership race. They all announced that they were releasing their delegates to vote for Dame Ventura. The endorsements from Antoni and Ewan were surprising, as they were considered ultra-conservative and had stated that they would not support any particular candidate if they received a low vote share. Antoni and Ewan were probably pressured by party leadership to support a particular candidate, to prevent their expulsion from the party, which was recently started by the ultra-radical leader of the BPDP, PM Furgenster, to prevent racism and bigotry from rising in the party and in Beluzia.

Dame Ventura was elected the Joint Leader of the BPDP. Her surprise victory was probably due to the failure of Henning to persuade Davidson delegates into voting for him, as many called him a "fake progressive", as he mostly voted against the party in Party Leadership meetings 35% of the time.

MessageWe have results coming in from the 4055 National Convention and the first round results are as follows:

2001 delegates needed to win
Delegates are bound

Romanovic: 1798 (44.95)
Henning: 1787 (44.68)
Davidson: 415 (10.37)

The results of the first round were surprising, as Romanovic was considered to be the front runner and was expected to receive over 50% of the delegate votes. This strong challenge by Dr Henning has many questioning Romanovic's ability in leading the party and the nation, as Romanovic has received criticism over his far left and radical views on many topics, most significantly calling for the deaths of racist candidates or party leaders in Beluzia. The vote will go the second round and Romanovic was seen frantically talking with radical Davidson and Henning delegates to prevent a liberal conservative (Henning) from causing a split in the party's factions and party rifts.

MessageWe have results coming in from the second round and they are as follows:

Romanovic: 2989 (74.73)
Davidson: 980 (24.5)
Henning: 31 (0.77)

The results of the second round were surprising for some, as Romanovic was expected to receive less than 75% of the delegates and approximately 50-60% of the delegate votes. This giant leap might have been because of reports of Dr Henning being guilty of bribery to get elected to his seat in the Federal Senate. If found guilty, he will be suspended from the party and put on trial. When the results were announced, Romanovic said: "This shows that the BPDP has faith in my leadership over conservatives that want to cause rifts and make our party unelectable. Federal elections are in 2 months and I will campaign as hard as I can to receive support from the citizens of Beluzia and to strive for at least 100-140 seats". When Dr Davidson was asked about her candidacy and why she decided to challenge Romanovic although she was part of his shadow cabinet, she said: "Well, I wanted to prevent Henning from taking over, as you know what trouble conservatives can cause, so I ran for the leadership to split the votes so that Henning would not be elected in the first round."

MessageWe have results coming in from the 4070 National Convention and the first round results are as follows:

2001 delegates needed to win
Delegates are bound

Furgenster: 1450 (36.25)
James: 1350 (33.75)
Romanovic: 1200 (30.0)

The results of the first round were not surprising, as Furgenster was expected to be challenged by two prominent members of the BPDP over their disapproval of his ultra-radical libertarian stance. They criticised this stance, saying that it was disenfranchising many former BPDP voters and causing them to vote for more moderate parties, resulting in a drop in popular vote and in the share of seats. When Furgenster was asked about a potential cabinet reshuffle, he replied: "Well, we will be looking into this matter after the convention. If I win with a slim margin, for example, between 1%-5% I might consider it. But if I win with a large margin, for example 25%-30%, I will not consider it. But let us see what the results of the second round will be." When asked about a possible resignation, he replied: "No comment." This strong leadership challenge has many questioning whether Furgenster is able to lead his party back to its former glory. It has also questioned many on whether this leadership challenge will further disenfranchise the current supporters of the BPDP. But looking at the current situation, with 591 seats vacant, there might be a chance for the BPDP to bounce back (considering the fact that the Libertarian Party, which after a short period of disbandment, has reformed again, will not draw many seats). The vote will go to a second round and James and Romanovic have been seen talking to disenfranchised Furgenster delegates, trying to gain support from them to propel themselves forward towards the leadership position.

MessageWe have results coming in from the second round and they are as follows:

Furgenster: 1234 (30.85)
James: 1200 (30.0)
Romanovic: 1100 (27.5)
Abstain: 466 (11.65)

In a reversal of fortunes, Furgenster's hold on the party has been weakened, with 11.65% of the delegates abstaining. This might have been due to the persuasion from both James and Romanovic, telling moderate delegates that Furgenster was not a great choice and would lead the party towards a more totalitarian stance and if elected President, he would be a dictator, restricting the rights of conservatives, centrists, moderate liberals etc. When asked by reporters whether his leadership was in jeopardy, Furgenster said: "I have accepted the fact that the odds are not in my favour and if this carries on, I might consider withdrawing from the leadership race and handing over the reins to whoever is the most capable out of the two." Both James and Romanovic, seeing this from Furgenster, said that it was 'great news' and that radical or totalitarian stances had no place in the party. When asked about seats in the cabinet if either the two were elected, James said that he would keep Romanovic in his current position as the party's candidate for HoG and Romanovic said that he would move James up to HoG. When asked about a role for Furgenster (if he were to lose), James said that he would give him FA, saying that moving him to that position would make him never have to see his face again and Romanovic said that he would give Furgenster the Justice position, saying that it was time that he looked at the nation's judiciary and prepare himself for a possible indictment. Both men laughed at this, saying that Furgenster was a honest and transparent, never having a single scandal in his whole career. The vote will go to a third round and Furgenster has been frantically going about the different delegations, asking for their support, framing James as a "fake progressive" and Romanovic a "moderate progressive who caused many losses for the party"

MessageWe have results coming in from the third round and they are as follows:

2001 delegates needed to win
Delegates are not bound

Furgenster: 1950 (48.75)
James: 1948 (48.7)
Romanovic: 102 (2.55)

The third round of the leadership election showed a rift in the ranks of the BPDP, as many of the delegates decided not to give Furgenster a clear majority, including some radical progressives, saying that Furgenster was showing signs of dictatorship in the party, for example, restricting some of the powers that moderates and centrists have in the party, such as proposing moderate ideas to the party. In the convention hall, there were signs of fighting between some Furgenster delegates and James delegates and they had to be restrained by security, to prevent opponents of the BPDP criticising the party as "weak" and "not united". Seeing that he had no path forward, Romanovic withdrew his candidacy and urged his supporters to vote for James, saying that he had what it takes to lead the party towards prosperity and not towards failure. The vote will go into the fourth round and Furgenster has been frantically going to both radical James and Romanovic delegations, asking them to support him rather than James, saying that he was a "corrupt pig" and was being funded by many big corporations, which mostly had conservative views. There has also been reports of a extramarital scandal involving James and although it is not clear what the results of the fourth round will be, this might harm James in his bid for the leadership.

Furgenster: 2298 (57.45)
James: 1702 (42.55)

The results of the fourth round were not surprising for some, as the extramarital scandal involving James was expected to harm his candidacy and for Furgenster to draw James's delegates over to his side. When the results were announced, Furgenster said: "This shows that the BPDP has faith in my leadership and that whatever challenge from the party, no matter how strong, I can overcome. Federal elections are in 2 months and I will campaign as hard as I can to receive support from the citizens of Beluzia and to strive for at least 100-140 seats". When Furgenster was asked about a cabinet reshuffle, he said: "Well, I am actively considering that. Senator James has shown that he is incapable to be in the cabinet and to be a Senator. Him receiving donations from conservatives and his extramarital scandal has given me no choice but to consider his removal from his positions and from the party overall." When asked whether the shadow cabinet would be overhauled completely, he said "I am looking into this possibility. We have many new members and also, we have many bright young Senators that have shown that they are capable of holding more prominent positions within the party. Look. Can we talk about this later? I have many important things on the agenda and I do not wish to be disturbed. Senator James was not available for comment, but was photographed leaving the convention red-faced. This may be a indication that Senator James has been dropped from the shadow cabinet and from the party. But these rumours have not been confirmed and we await an announcement from Furgenster himself.
