Message | Madam Speaker, We would be doing a disservice to our children and grandchildren by pulling out funding for our museums: our culture is - naturally - a part of who we are, and we would be destroying our own identity and would see these great museums fade into obscurity. The same holds true for Article I. It would also be a shame to leave spending control to local governments, whereas we are able to manage libraries in central government to ensure a strong network of libraries, all of which are well equipped and well funded. |
