Message | Mr. Speaker, There's no constitutional basis for this. Even if the resolution passes, nothing will happen. Same with the resolution put forward by the LPU to begin with. This is a non issue. I yield. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, A non issue? The leader of the LPU has proposed to replace our Emperor and the ruling dynasty with her own family. She is off her rocker as far as I am concerned. I yield |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Perhaps the LPU is naive, and I would support a formal censure of the LPU issued by the Imperial Diet, but the Imperial Diet lacks the authority to ban one of its members for life. Similarly, the LPU's resolution was invalid to begin with, so largely a non issue. I understand the IDP's concerns, but we must not overreact. I yield. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, we think that this resolution is ex-post facto as we are still debating about the Lèse-majesté amendment on the floor. This is unconstitutional. I yield. Harry McFarrow MP Leader of the Liberals |

Message | Mr. Speaker, After reflection, I see that the LPU did not commit a crime and must abstain from voting at this point. What they did was legal and would have to be treated as a constitutional amendment. While I disagree with the proposal, it is allowable. I have proposed a Les Majeste amendment to help clarify this. I yield. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Parliamentary privilege protects what the honourable member from the LPU was proposing here in the Diet. I yield. |

Random fact: In order for a Cabinet bill to pass, more than half of the legislature must vote for it and all of the parties included in the proposed Cabinet must support it. If your nation has a Head of State who is also the Head of Government, then the party controlling this character must also vote for the bill, since the Head of Government is also a member of the Cabinet. If any of these requirements are not met, the bill will not pass. |
