Bill: OOC: Cultural Protocols [Scheduled for application on 12-14 August 2016]

Details

Submitted by[?]: Partit Soċjalista

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 4100

Description[?]:

Jakania is a heterogenous state, which has been influenced strongly by Majatrans, Turjaks, and more recently Gziri.

The demographic composition of Jakania, as of the passage of these protocols, are as follows:

Ethnicity:

The majority of native Jakanians belong to the greater, multi-national Majatran ethnic group. The Turjak minority also has an enduring
presence in the country. The most recent major shifts with regards to ethnic demographics, is the steady growth of the Gziri minority,
which is not originally native to Jakania. Many first-generation Gziri immigrants originally came from Cildania as merchants, when
the Jakanian government sought closer ties with the latter in the 4050s. Both Kalopians and Yeudis make up significant minorities
in Jakania, but have had relatively little influence outside their own communities.

• Majatrans [Arabs]................................. 63 %
• Turjaks [Turks]...................................... 21 %
• Gziri [Maltese]...................................... 6 %
• Kalopians [Greeks]............................... 5 %
• Yeudis [Jews]....................................... 4 %
• Others.................................................. 1 %

Language:

Due to the long history of rule by Ahmadi Majatrans, the Majatran language is by far the most commonly used language in the country.
The Turjak minority primarily speaks its own language, Turjak, however. Additionally, the Gziri language has served as a 'lingua franca'
in Jakania since the mid-4000s, when it was adopted as an administrative language by the country's rulers. Due to its rising prominence
in schools and other public institutions, it is the fastest-growing language in Jakania, despite being the mother tongue of only a tenth of
the population. Despite this, roughly 84% of the country's population is fluent in Gziri. This number should grow towards 100% over time.

• Majatran [Arabic]................................ 64 %
• Turjak [Turkish].................................. 20 %
• Gziri [Maltese].................................... 9 %
• Kalopian [Greek]................................ 4 %
• Yeudish [Hebrew]............................... 2 %
• Others................................................. 1 %

Religion:

Jakania is overwhelmingly Ahmadi, though with a significant Hosian presence; there is also a tiny Yeudish minority. Among the Ahmadis,
the Israist denomination is adhered to by over 90%. The religious composition of Jakania has been, and should remain, relatively stable,
with a rough 80-20 ratio between Ahmadis and Hosians.

• Ahmadism [Islam].............................. 76 %
• Hosianism [Christianity]..................... 18 %
• Yeudism [Judaism]............................. 4 %
• Others................................................. 2 %

Gameplay:

Even though Jakania is multi-ethnic, multi-lingual and multi-religious, party names should be in either English or Maltese -- Maltese is considered
the Jakanian 'lingua franca' and most organizations, cities, and institutions will have Maltese names and titles. When it comes to the names of candidates
and other (roleplay) individuals, however, names from all the languages and ethnic groups are allowed.

MessageOOC: This is just a formality. All cultural protocols were required to be updated a while back, and nobody has done it for Jakania yet, meaning that this country currently doesn't have any official culture, language or similar. This proposal mostly just re-establishes the traditional Jakanian culture that was in place before the old protocols became void.
