Bill: Pro-Choice Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: National Farmers' Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2177
Description[?]:
To ensure that parents, no matter what period of the pregnancy, have the opportunity to terminate their child if they decide it is unwanted or it physically or mentally handicapped. It's worse to bring a child into the world who is unwanted than terminating it while the mother is pregnant; the pain suffered is minimal and for a very short period of time. I ask for people to disregard their politically correct dogma and adopt a pragmatic and rational one. |

Message | We cannot allow throughout the pregnancy, up to second trimester the mother knows whether or not she's pregnant, and by the third trimester the baby is very much alive, therefore we will limit it to second trimester or medical emergency. |
Date | 10:14:37, January 27, 2006 CET | From | National Farmers' Party | To | Debating the Pro-Choice Bill |
Message | What's wrong with an abortion throughout the whole pregnancy? Surely it's best to kill a baby instead of subject it to the perils of being severely disabled or being neglected. |

Message | Ever heard of adoption? This is just incredibly stupid. |
Date | 23:59:57, January 27, 2006 CET | From | National Farmers' Party | To | Debating the Pro-Choice Bill |
Message | It's not stupid. If parents don't wish to be burdened by a disabled child then they should be given the choice especially considering the child is part of them. I still don't understand why you all don't see something that's 9 weeks old as a human, but see anything older as a human. Because until a few weeks before the baby is born its cognitive abilities are extremely limited in such away, they can only feel pain or distress. |

Random quote: "If we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people to not kill each other? Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want." - Mother Teresa of Calcutta quotes |
