Details

Submitted by[?]: Proletariat Revolution Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2058

Description[?]:

Language barriers in an emergency are not only cumbersome but also very dangerous. That is why, this bill proposes that all essential services that provide emergency relief to the citizens receive additional funding, if needed, so that they can provide training for their employees so that the employees can speak more than one language, so that those seeking help can get the help that they need.

MessageRather than funding dedicated translators, we should instead fund courses in other languages for those workers who are most likely to be called to work in other areas. This will be cheaper, and should be equal or greater in effectiveness.

MessageYes, it costs money, but ensuring that if anyone calls in for help, they all have the same ensurance that they can help the help. What makes one language more special than any other? All the citizens of Likaton are equal, they all deserve the same rights.

Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with.
