Details

Submitted by[?]: Unionist Alliance Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 4077

Description[?]:

OOC- I know I am new but I have seen the nation has attempted this before, only to have a couple of posts. This bill will aim to be a slightly longer debate and have a fixed format.

Hello! Ladies and Gentlemen tonight we have a large party debate on the issues that matter to you. All parties will have an equal chance to give there view and question other parties. Each party is asked to give there views on these issues (preferably in one go)-
1.) Spending and taxes
2.) Education
3.) Environment
4.) External Affairs
5.) Democracy and preferred coalition partners.
Each party gives there view and can respond to other parties which can then lead to a debate on that issue. Parties are asked to respond regularly.

MessageHello I am Anne Peterson of the New Democrats. We are a new party that is promoting equality and freedom. On spending and taxes we need to cut spending by 5% and cut taxes for the middle class, as a nation we are made up of hard working middle class citizens that make our nation work and keeping the money they earn is their right. On education we want higher standers. Also we will not cut education as we they are the future and education needs to keep its funding. On issues concerning the environment of course we need regulation but we value working with companies to and would seek a partnership. Our external affairs policy is determined by peace first and strength always. We would work with any party providing we could reach a workable agreement but we are closest to the moderates probably.

MessageWe welcome this debate and thank the New Democrats for proposing it.
The Patriotic Party of Baltusia believes in social conservative values, defence in strength and a free market economy. We also represent many religious voters whose view have been rather sidelined for many years.
In terms of the issue you set out above our thoughts are:

Spending and taxes: reduce income tax across the board; lower corporation tax to encourage business; raise defence spending and save money by privatising and slashing government regulation.

Education: Year on year increase in education spending; encourage private schools and academies and allow regulated religious schools to exist.

Environment: Cut punitive restrictions that choke business growth. We are a firm believer in people doing the right thing without being told all the time or threatened with fines. Carrot rather than stick approach.

External affairs:We believe in peace through a strong military deterrent. We are cynical about some international treaties past governments have signed, which have drawn us closer to war and would shy away from them in the future.

Democracy and coalition partners: We have worked closely with the Conservative Party for many years - backing their candidate for president in the last three elections. We have also been part of a strong centre-right coalition cabinet with the Moderates too. We now look forward to working with the New Democrats to encourage free trade, lower taxes and address environmental legislation.

Xirtes Fisk, Leader - Patriotic Party of Baltusia.

MessageI thank both parties for the contributions made. I would like to ask the Freedom party how much taxes for food will be lowered. And also declare our full support for the patriotic parties policies on all that is mentioned. We have common ground and will work with them. I open the floor to either parties that have already spoke or ones that have not.
Yours,
Anne Peterson

MessagePresident Alexandra Burguller, Leader of The Conservative Party of Baltusia:

Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Thank you to our moderators and proposers the New Democrats. I am looking forward to engaging in a debate with the other parties. Firstly I will outline our parties stances.

Taxes and Spending: The Conservative Party want to cut income tax for the hard working people of this nation, so that they can keep more of what they earn in their pocket. Also we want to decrease corporation tax and remove business regulations holding businesses back, especially for small businesses who we want to thrive so that we can have a secure economy. We want increase spending on education, defence, justice and healthcare. We want to build more starter homes for people who are on a low income or have previously been in poverty. We want to privatise industry where possible and remove any governmental regulation on trade and other industry, allowing for a laissez-faire economy.

Education: The Conservative Party want to increase spending for education to allow our future generation to be well equipped for adulthood. We support private schools and allow religious schooling. We also support homeschooling. We want the curriculum to be a guideline for schools and it should be up to the school how closely they wish to follow it depending on their needs. We would also be prepared to let local regions to decide their school curriculum.

Environment: Provide environmental recommendations allowing to find a fair medium between business growth and environmental needs.

External Affairs: We have created the United Nations of the Terra, a platform to allow international leaders to come to discuss key issues. This is one of the ways we feel that we can deal with international relations. We would recommend that all parties join the UN and improve Baltusia's international relations. However if nations are not willing to peacefully co-operate then we are a strong believer in peace through strength, so we propose increased spending for defence, especially in times of emergency or war in which the nation must be fully prepared. We also believe in conscription in times of war and would even go as far as proposing that all adults must serve a fixed term in one of the armed forces. This could help with discipline and encourage young people to follow the law.

Democracy and Potentially Preferred Coalition Partners: We are in the Centre-Right alliance with both the Patriotic Party and the Moderate Party. As with our current cabinet we would be happy to propose a cabinet with these two parties again and hopefully the New Democrats as well. We have worked very closely with the patriotic party and we thank them for endorsing our presidential candidate for the last 3 elections. We have now succeeded, third time lucky! We are looking forward to working again closely with the Patriotic Party to build more houses, encourage a lassez-faire free trade economy, slash taxes for hard working people. Hopefully this time we will also have the support of the New Democrats. Thank you.

MessageThank you to the Freedom, Patriotic and Conservative parties for the participation. I feel voters will be delighted and feel they have real answers. I feel that my party should offer our more comprehensive guide than our original basic argument. We also ask parties to (if they have already spoken and are done giving views) to start questions to other parties and for other parties. Here is our more detailed guide-

Spending and taxes- Our nation is made up of hard working folk that raise families, start companies and make our country work. We wan't to grant these people more rights, the fastest growing area of poverty is in work- poverty. Hence why we want to lower taxes for them by 5% and to grant them more rights. They work for that money and deserve to keep as much as it as possible. We also want to lower sales taxes to promote investment, after all consumers are key to our nation. When it comes to spending we want to protect health, education and defense budgets from any further cuts but we will reign in spending and cut it to allow our tax breaks for companies and millions of people. Our company tax lowering will allow for less government regulation on the free market.

Education- We want to put our nation's education in the top 10 by 4072 and make sure schools follow tougher standers and that every pupil fulfills his or her potential. We will increase education spending just like the government. We will continue the government owning higher education and make sure pre- schools can be opened by the private sector as long as they follow heavy regulation. Also a greater emphasis on the core subjects.

Environment- To us the most important job in this issue is to find the correct balance between companies and environmental safety. By cutting regulation and making it optional it removes the desire to avoid following it but makes companies want to do it to be seen as choosing to be green. We do need eco- regulation but we need jobs to and we will work to strike a balance.

External Affairs- We want to sign into law that the president's party gets the role of foreign affairs. And we wish to co operate closer with neighbors on trade and defense. We also want more internationalism and work with other countries to stop the 5 or so countries that still have child labor.

Democracy and coalition- We want the time between elections lowered to 48 months. And we will work with the conservatives and patriots to ensure stability.
Thanks.
