Bill: National Service

Details

Submitted by[?]: The Lodamese People's Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 4066

Description[?]:

We want armed forces who are passionate about protecting our country and whilst many will feel this way, they may not necessarily have the physical or mental stature to fight on the front line or be involved with conflict. Also, by forcing national service, this will be giving citizens first-hand experience of how to cause death, which may have repercussions on our society.

MessageMr. Speaker,

those fulfilling their miltary service don't necessarily stand in the frontline. Most of them learn how the military works and get logistic tasks. The service is quite useful, it seems.

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play".
