Message | The MIP would not call itself a socialist party because such labels can be misleading, two people believing different things would call themselves socialists, but we believe in government involvement in the market, a serious redistribution in wealth, protecting civil rights, protectors worker rights, equal rights for all, a strong belief in the welfare state (i.e. a country which has a free health service, free schools, gives help to the poor and unemployed), we believe some industries should be in the hands of the government as they provide a better service and have the sole concern of helping the public rather than just helping themselves. If you think that makes us socialist, thats what you think. |

Message | we feel other bill proposals/ legislation relating to health, post office, military, environment, energy, etc. provide enough of a space for "socialist" intervention... we prefer the current phrasing as it states a policy of neither capitalist corporate welfare nor the building of superflous machine politick jobs in state controlled "industries". |
