Message | Mr Speaker, The other parties of the left are acting like cowards shying away from this election as they are afraid they will lose their majority. Both have seen my bill regarding early elections, I know that for a fact, and both have ignored it completely. They are using this time, whilst the right are heavily outnumbered to dictate what this countries policy is and reap their own socialist policies and the right can do nothing to stop them. I respect all the parties of the National united Front Greatly and I have worked in coalition with them for several years. Although now it has to stop, the legislature is highly unbalanced and unfair with a clear biased towards the left as a result of the CUP's departure and I ask the RPP and DSPR to seek a new mandate and allow the right to regain some of the ground they lost with the CUP. I merely want a fair legislature with representation chosen by the people that provides equal and fair views from each side. At the moment the seat distribution was not chosen by the people the CUP's seats are left unmanned and unstaffed, I believe the RPP and m the DSPR need to call this election to fill the gap in our legislature, to provide a fairer legislature that is chosen by the people, and to give representation to those who have lost it along with the CUP. I feel as if I have to resign my cabinet posts and break the coalition. This is only to speed up the process of calling an election and I believe it is the right thing to do. I wish the parties I was in coalition with luck, and I would like to thank them for these years in government, whilst they have not been the most successful ever and our parties have disagreed on much, we have provided relatively stable leadership of the country. Thank you. Philip Duncan Leader of the Conservative Party |
