Message | We disagree with the following for democratic reasons: - that governmental approval is needed before workers are fired; I think this is providing too much cushioning. Perhaps strikers should be fired for invalid strike reasons but not for those which pertain to conditions, benefits, hours and wages. - Mayors should represent the people in their city and thus be democratically elected by the people - while we agree that religion should be banned, we find it more democratic for the government to be indifferent to it. |

Message | Response to the AM SLP: The biggest complaint AMA had to the current strike law, is that honest strikers can be punished alongside frivolous strikers. This seems unfair. Those who have a real and genuine complaint, are having a legitimate form of expression curtailed. Thus, AMA suggests that an independent arbitrator exist, before which all strike issues CAN be taken, for a simple adjudication. If the adjudicator agrees with the employer, the employer can dismiss the worker, with no fear of adverse repercussion (which, we think, is enough of a reason for this policy to exist, on it's own). If the adjudicator agrees with the workers, no harm falls upon the employer, EXCEPT that the worker's 'right-to-strike' is protected. Regarding the mayors... citizens electing local mayors installs yet another layer of partisan politics. If a locality elects a mayor of a different political orientation to the bulk of government, the presence of that mayor can actually inhibit the democratic policies of the elected government. Also - localities might elect mayors that have ideologies far from the democratic wishes of the nation. Should a town be allowed to elect a Nazi mayor, when the will of the nation is for peace and equity? We agree with the Am SLP on the religion issue. Being indifferent WOULD be more democratic. However... moderation on religion seems to be worth almost nothing in the current political climate of Likatonia. |

Message | Hmn... would you actually consider removing the strike article? We're covering it in proposed bill. Otherwise, we can support this and understand your logic and reasoning behind this. And will support it. |

Message | We wish to reassure TOTAL that while we are a very secular party, we would never inhibit the freedom of our people to choose their religion like others would. |

Random quote: “The people's war isn't just a war of destruction, it is also a war of construction. We will build new facilities, new hospitals, new farms. We will seek to improve the lives of the people around us. This struggle will be as costly as the struggle against the bourgeois army, and indeed will be even more damaging to the enemy.” - Comrade X, former Hulstrian politician |
