MessageThis will both give us more revenue, and spread the tax burden out more fairly.

Message60% of their income on 15 thousand pounds?!? That's insane. If anything, we should taxes the businesses, not the people. I mean, at least tax them fairly. 10% for Businesses and 60% for people is just crazy.

MessageAs a tax and spender, even I can see that 60% is rather alot.

MessageLess than 1% of our citizens would be taxed at 60 per cent, and those are our richest citizens; they can easily afford it.

Our poorest citizens would be paying a whopping 15% - 20% less under this plan!

Our latest budget gave us a deficit, so we have to do something to become solvent.

MessageAs firm believers in a flat rate income tax system and raising further tax revenue by taxing consumption, we cannot endorse this.

MessageSubmitting this to a vote. If it doesn't pass, I will introduce another tax bill that rewards the rich and punishes the poor I guess...though I'm not sure why you would be in favor of doing so!

MessageNo; we wan't equal payment. 60% of 15,000 pounds is alot. They'd have about 7,000 pounds, and when you look at it; we are poor. That would be equivalent of them having $30,000. Which isn't alot.

MessageA flat rate doesn't reward or punish anybody, it raises revenue fairly. It's a percentage: the more you earn the more you pay. Increasing the percentage for high earners is robbery.

MessageAh my bad, when you said "flat rate" I assumed you meant every citizen would pay the same amount, which is clearly NOT fair. If one makes 1000 LPD and pays 200 LPD tax, and one person makes 17,000 LPD and pays 200 LPD tax, clearly the poor person is paying more hehe.

I'll introduce another proposal that generates enough revenue to cover our current shortfall.
