Message | Yes ! We would really like to increase Science and Technology budget though. With only 100,000,000 BEL we will really be left behind the other nations... (of course this was because of Daybreak) |

Message | Madam Speaker, I would like to correct members of the KotP benches who are peddling falsehoods. The Daybreak Coalition protected Science and Technology funding at a time when cuts were needed to get spending back in check. I have here a copy of the flagship budget for that term: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=480231. As can be clearly seen, Science & Tech funding was protected. I beg KotP members refrain from attempting to mislead the Senate on this, and indeed any, matter. Now, however, is the time for investment. Unfortunately, this budget will squander our investment funds on the already over-funded H&SS department. Thanks to the fantastic work of the Daybreak Coalition in lifting people out of poverty, this department is under less strain than it was when it was allocated 80bn Beluz, and can easily take a cut in favour of making sensible investment in our economy. Message | While this was not done explicitly by the Daybreak Coalition, we are referring to the budget proposed by the Military/Nationalist Party, which was enacted a few years earlier, which reduced government spending by 100,000,000,000 BEL, and which was wholeheartedly endorsed by the New Liberal Party. |
