Status[?]: defeated

Voting deadline: August 4077

Description[?]:

"Space is one of our most limitless places to explore and one we know so less about compared to the oceans and way of life here. We have studied our bodies and those who came before us. It is time we explore what is or what was beyond just what we know in space. Our quality of knowledge about space is incredible but surprisingly small in quanity.

This bill will propose the government devotes resources and create the Baltusia National Space Agency which will oversee and control all space exploration activties. We will put the full forth of the power and resources of the government into the missions operated from this agency. As such I will soon be sending a bill to Congress to authorize the funds and begin construction of the Official Baltusia Space Station which will house a group of astronauts, researchers, and other vital members to the mission to explore and study the endless realm of space. We will launch past planets we have visited and go deeper than we have before and discover more than we have this promise I make you. I ask Congress to join us in this journey to began a road to remarkable achievements and discovery and to put the full forth of their legislative branch to help ensure the passage of this act and make this journey and rewards possible. " President Clara Newman in a speech from the Presidential Office.

MessageMadam President,

We, as a party, are very much for the exploration of space and are excited about the prospect of a space station and all the scientific and technological advancements it could lead to, so commend your vision. We also note that the proposal is to completely state-fund this project. Could you, therefore, present to this House a breakdown of costs and budget implications thereof?

Thank you,

Bathsheba Grey,
Home Secretary and Patriotic Party Leader

MessageMadam President,

PC is excited too, but we are in favour of little government involment in this.
Government shall issue permits to private space-exploration companies who will finance space-exploration projects.

MessageAs a rough estimate.

" I have scoured the current budget for my Ministry with the shuffling of some projects being combined with others. The Ministry has also been able to reduce costs with discoveries of new vaccines and etc to be able to reduce our research into such areas. Doing this has helped us save money. Going forward to start with a healthy operating budget we are requesting an additional 20 billion to jump start several projects including the construction of the Baltusia Space Station. We have been in touch with several private space exploration companies to help set up transfer and sells of materials and resources we would need and have set them up to be purchased at a discount price while not reducing quality. I again urge Congress to support this proposal.
