Message | Article 1 will hurt Unions because it will force businesses with critical functions to use non-union labor. Non-Union labor would have an unitended competitive advantage because the employer would have no risk of a massive work stoppage in which the workers could not be replaced. When Unions negotiate wages, they need to go into the negotiations offering the best skilled workers that will have a big benrfit to the employer. There is no benefit to the employer when they can be held hostage by unreasonable demands so they will choose not to use them in many cases. We would support article 2. Workers need to have the right to strike if contracts are violated by employers or if they cannot agree to a contract with the employer. |

Message | That is a good point. Employers may refuse to hire unionized workers if they are seen as that much of a burden. We concur with your party, and suggest that Article 2 (a universal right to strike) should be its own bill. |
