Description[?]:
The use of cannabis should be regulated by local governments. Cannabis has major short term as well as long term health effects and allowing infinite access to the public is unsafe and a danger to the publics health; however, the use of cannabis can in some cases be beneficial. Local governments will better understand their own populations and needs. Those citizens will be better equipped to make a decision on the use of cannabis. |

Message | Madam Speaker This effectively allows regions to reintroduce prohibition on cannabis, something which drains police resources, increases incarceration rates, and punishes those that use a drug, which, when treated like alcohol, is not worse than smoking in the short term and raises taxes for both local and federal governments. Madam speaker, I encourage those interested in civil liberties to reject this proposal. |
