Message | While I believe that our current policies on immigration need to be reformed, the problem with this bill is that it takes a stance too far to the left that will eventually collapse national security and overpopulate the nation. A concrete stance must be taken that shows incremental reform towards our ideals without taking too rash of a leap in one step. This is politics, after all, and sustainability in nations requires some stability in policy change. The ideology backing this bill falls into the same trap as the underpants gnomes in South Park: Step 1 - Collect Underwear Step 2 - ??? Step 3 - Profit The bill posits no step 2 in reaching our goal of a border-less world, and therefore fails in its aim. I look forward to seeing more moderate efforts regarding immigration. Sincerely, The Honorable Slavoj Zizek Founder of the Slavoj Zizek Party |
