Message"Mr. Speaker,

Each of these bills only serves one purpose: to build a Hutorian empire. We are not an empire, we are a federal republic, and thus we should keep to ourselves."

Message"Mr. Speaker,

We welcome proposals such as this one. If you want to get us out of some trade agreements and binding treaties that limit our abilities to govern freely then we would welcome either of those moves as well!"

MessageMr. Speaker,

These treaties do nothing to limit our ability to free govern. They are defensive pacts and alliances meant to protect us and our allies in times of crisis. They have nothing to do with empire or our ability to govern.

Deputy Prime Minister

MessageMr. Speaker,

They do, however bind us into an alliance and obligate us to fight alongside another nation.

As far as limiting our ability to make laws, those are the other binding treaties that I was referring to. Not this treaty in particular.

That is correct but, having friends is in an uncertain world is surely not a negative thing.

Random fact: In cases where a party has no seat, the default presumption should be that the party is able to contribute to debates in the legislature due to one of its members winning a seat at a by-election. However, players may collectively improvise arrangements of their own to provide a satisfying explanation for how parties with no seats in the legislature can speak and vote there.
