MessageMatthew Leitch, President of Baltusia

"May I first just say how delighted I am that we are now sitting around a table discussing a peace resolution to prevent further bloodshed and conflict.

I shall analyse and assess each of your points and then if need be, remove, edit or include new parts to the peace proposal.

1, "A pardon for all rebels".

Firstly, in response to this, I am not prepared to forgive a group of violent terrorists for killing innocent Baltusian citizens. It is simply wrong. I am not going to pardon or sympathise with something which the terrorists brought amongst themselves.

2. "Left positions on the cabinet".

In Baltusia, we have democratic system, so the public go out to vote- Everyone gets a say- and this time the centre-right parties were the largest parties elected, who formed a coalition and created a cabinet. Now if in the next election the Left Parties are the largest parties elected and can make a coalition , then the cabinet will be made up of Left Wing members. The government chooses the cabinet and the government is democratically elected. It's just the same as if the left were in government. We have 378 seats, the left have 372 seats. You couldnt actually make a cabinet as you do not have the required majority of Congress. I am happy for the left to create a shadow cabinet however I am not undermining this nation's democratic voice, to elect ourselves and the patriots into government, and allow your parties cabinet seats when you aren't even in a majority of government.

3. "The government revoke some of the harsh laws imposed on the people".

Would the RAC please care to elaborate and specify the particular laws which they feel are 'harsh'. If it is with regards to police searches etc. we have already stated that these are only temporary laws for this current terrorist uprising, which are to be revoked after the conflict has been resolved. So in short, please specify the laws and the laws I assume you mean are temporary laws to reduce bloodshed as a result of this conflict, which are to be revoked as soon as a peace resolution has been agreed.

4. "Early Elections to be held"

I'm sorry that the vote didn't go the way you wanted, but the way to win isn't to fight us and kill civilians or keep protesting for early elections until you get your way- It's to campaign democratically and win over the people with the power of policy. I see no need currently for early elections and scheduled elections are to occur when scheduled.

5. "The right parties to not stand in the next HOS election (they will be able to stand in further elections just not the next one)"

This proposal is perhaps the most ludicrous of them all. This is extremely undemocratic and undermines the value of democracy. We will stand as we are entitled to do, just like yourselves.

6. "Parties to compromise and work together more as we have a unhealthy atmosphere and can't get work done"

Of course I want the government to compromise and work together, but the fact is that people have different opinions and views for how to take this nation forward. I think that its great that we have a split and a multitude of parties who can provide different platforms for people with a multitude of opinions. Let's ensure that there are enough political parties that people can associate with to make sure that every single person in Baltusias opinion is respected and heard.

My proposal is this:

i: An immediate stop to all fighting and international rebel support in Baltusia.
ii: The whole of Baltusia is a democratic presidential republic, not a communist state.
iii: The government immediately revoke their temporary laws for the terrorist uprising as soon as article 1 is evoked.
iv: A report into how similar conflict could be prevented in both Baltusia and around the Terra.
v: An investigation into foreign support of terrorist organisations such as the TFF and BRG.
vi: A shadow cabinet is created by the official opposition to ensure that the opposition voice is heard.

I fully welcome a response from the RAC and other parties in Baltusia. Thank you"

MessageThe Rebel proposal is nothing shorting of ludicrous, Mr President. They are basically saying 'we lost in the election, we are not going to do things democratically so we will start a civil war. To stop the violence we demand you do not stand at the next election so the RAC party can win.' How undemocratic can you get!

Apart from the hundreds of lives being lost every week, it shows how pathetically far the RAC had fallen that they can only win an election if it is a one horse race. We will never bow to these demands, we will never give in to violence and terrorism. We will arrest Gibb and Benn and they will most likely pay for their crimes with their lives.

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election.
