Bill: True Path (vii)
Details
Submitted by[?]: Likaton Fascist Front
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2179
Description[?]:
Absalom ben Adamah has proposed the following for consideration by the convocation. 1. Previously it has been argued that an armed society is a polite society. We consider a gun to merely be a tool, and have eough faith in the people of Likatonia that they will be responsible. 2. Rather than breeding poverty, the wealth of our affluent nation should allow a safety net for those who have been displaced from their jobs for whatever reason. 3. On moral grounds we take issue with this. Providing sex for money is a debasement of all that is admirable about human beings. It is commercial exploitation of the worst type, and we ask to stop it. |

Message | RLP finds no areas of agreement to this bill. 1) While we support the right to bear arms, (as well as to arm bears, but that is for another bill) we feel that a history of dangerous mental illness or a violent criminality is a good bar to that right. 2) This will be a disincetive to self support. Direct assistance in the form of food, clothing, and rent payments mean that the aid is used for the intended purpose and not wasted. 3) All this would accomplish is to drive the business underground, eliminating both the opportunity to impose safety regulations on the profession and the tax considerations the workers now have, as to purchase of necessary items to continue doing business. |
