| Message | I wish to inform Congress that I have received several correspondences this morning - some rather threatening to the sovereignty of this nation - from left wing political parties in Terra. As far as I can see they are also members of the Revolutionary Alliance. It would seem the RAC Party has contacted them to put "the screws" on my administration trying to force me to call an early election and to stop pursuing my right to propose the Violent Organisation Bill. I have been called oppressive, undemocratic and unconstitutional in these missives. Ironically, the action the RAC is trying to force through falls into all these categories. Although I was under no obligation, I have written back to these parties setting the record straight. I will publish a full transcript of this letter if Congress wishes to see it. In taking this action, Mr Gibb and the RAC Party has threatened the very sovereignty of Baltusia and acted in a extremely irresponsible way. I have personally asked him to urge these parties to step down from any actions they are considering immediately. In the meantime, I will continue to vote "No" to early elections - it is my democratic right to do so. What other parties wish to do is their prerogative. As a concession, we will not propose my Violent Organisation Bill until after the scheduled May 4097 election - although we will propose the bill at that time as it is perfectly legal and constitutional to do so. I hope this draws a line under all matters and that no further underhand action of this kind takes place as it will de-stabilise Baltusia and be to the detriment of everyone. God Bless Baltusia. | Message | Justice Secretary Jones, this is the letter. If you have any questions please contact me. President Grey "Dear xxxx, it is good to hear from you. I thank you for your correspondence regarding the well-being of our nation but I am able to tell you that you have been misinformed about the situation in Baltusia. We are a free, fair and democratic nation. The scheduled general and presidential election will go ahead in less than two years – and there is no attempt to stop that happening. The left parties have called for an early election after one of their allies (the Freedom Party) quit - that is nothing to do with my party, that is just a party losing interest in their alliance's political ideologies, which have become more extreme over recent months. There is nothing in the constitution to say we must vote "yes" to early elections everytime. In fact, I have voted for early elections in the past and been told "no" for various reasons; however, I don't see it as oppressive because it is everyone's democratic right to vote no. Ironically, to force people to vote yes - as the RAC party and their allies have attempted - is oppressive. Additionally, the law I am proposing is to stop any party - mine, theirs, anyone's - to join an organisation that actively employs violence or promotes it. This would be along the same lines as you can propose a law preventing the media punishing hate speech or you can propose a law banning paramilitaries. However, you will see all we have done so far is go to the constitutional court to ask for advice over whether this law can be proposed - we have also asked the international supreme court to rule on this ( ooc - Moderation) and received a favourable response. No law has been proposed yet -but if it is, it will be voted on freely and fairly in Congress - again that's democracy. If this bill is proposed and voted through, then it is up to the left parties what happens next: if they still retain their membership with the Revolutionary Alliance (the source of this issue) then it would be up to our prosecutors to prove in court that their action is illegal, based on proving the Revolutionary Alliance is violent. Again this will be decided freely, fairly and lawfully. (OOC - there was a scenario where I ordered the office of the Syndicalist party to be searched after receiving a tip off of illegal activity, but there has been a request to not continue with this RP so I will not comment on that) I have taken the time to outline my thoughts on these matters and I trust this draws a line under your concerns.
