| Message | Dear members of Congress, I stand here today to inform you that I will not be seeking re-election as President of Baltusia. Instead I will be endorsing my good friend and right Wing Alliance member Ryan Gray and his Conservative Party in the Presidential election in 12 months time. After the election, I will also be stepping down as Patriotic Party Leader after 24 years at the helm and as Chairperson of the Right Wing Alliance. Although this move was always planned as part of our Alliance's long-term victory strategy - to which the Conservative Party will attest - I hope that by announcing this decision now the left wing parties will see that democracy, freedom and openness are at the forefront of my mind. My greatest critics say I am out of touch and that my determined approach is undemocratic. Well, I would suggest otherwise: in the last 24 years under my leadership, the Patriotic Party has backed the winner in eight of the nine Presidential elections. In that time we have also swelled our voter base from 7 million to 20 million. Under my presidency there have been no reported incidents of civil unrest and international relations with our closest neighbours have improved drastically through treaties I have negotiated. To those who would say the people do not support me, I say - and please excuse the vernacular - Go Figure! Of course, a new leader will be chosen to take this party forward in a year's time. I say forward because I am confident our voter numbers will continue to grow based on our policies of sensible economic growth mixed with strong social conservative and Hosian values and pride in our military. In the meantime, we will be launching a manifesto of policies in the run up to the election and I hope all parties will do the same, so people can judge them on face value. May God Bless Baltusia.
