MessageHerr Speaker,

We would like to hear what these restrictions include.

MessageHerr Knochen,

The restrictions will include:
- big and clear warnings about illnesses that smoking causes
- if the cashier is not sure whether the person is adult or not, he can always ask for ID (that's also why carrying ID is important)
- the imported tobacco would be checked, if it's from unknown plantations
- small additional tax
- (optional) tobacco will be sold to adults above 21 y.o.

MessageState Chancellor,

Generally these sound like reasonable regulations. However we don't see the relevance of whether tobacco is from unknown plantations, and we would rather see medium sized warnings about illnesses caused by smoking so it does not ruin the packaging design too much. Additionally, we would rather lower the age of purchase to 18, as that is the age of adulthood in our nation.

MessageFrau Fürst,

Unknown plantations are those that are not registered / probably illegal. The age of purchase was optional, but if you want to leave it, I'll leave it.

In that case, we see no reason to object to this bill unless given cause to by another party.

MessageMr. Speaker,

this would mean double regulations, we already have laws which force the producers to put infos about the harmful effects of the tobbaco products. If only adults may buy tobbaco products then the cashier is allowed to check the ID to ensure the person is above 18. and there is no further regulations needed.

Angela Schults, DSU leader.

MessageFrau Schults,

Again, we can see your point of view, as stated we have no strong views on this proposal. We can also see how these double regulations are unnecessary, following the next election when bills are put back to debate, we shall reconsider our stance.

Random fact: RP laws follow the same passing rules as in-game variable laws. Laws that are not of a constitutional nature require a simple majority "Yes" vote from active parties currently holding seats. Laws that are of a constitutional nature require a 2/3 majority "Yes" vote from active parties currently holding seats. RP laws may be abolished a simple majority vote this applies to ANY RP law.
