Bill: The Private Executions Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Green Party of Malivia
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 4115
Description[?]:
At this very moment, public executions are always carried out in public and/or broadcast on television. This is a very medieval thing to do for a civilised nation like ours. People can get trauma's to see someone being killed in front of your eyes, especially kids who see such a barbarian thing can be traumatised for the rest of their lives. the Green Party suggests that this way of executing the death penalty should be changed, to a more humane way. we propose a private execution where the family members, the victim and the victim's relatives are allowed to be present. This gives family members the opportunity to say goodbye to the convicted, and it gives the victim and her/his family the opportunity to physically close this dark time of their live and move on. it also protects the convicted's legacy of the humiliation it may suffer now. |
