| It is in the interest of every sovereign nation to be able to defend itself against foreign threats and aggression, in order to protect the liberty of its citizens. In order for Aloria to be able to do so, we propose the following articles to be enacted: (1) On the basis that national defence is a matter concerning all of Aloria, this article would abolish regional military forces and in their place create a nation-wide armed force, responsible to the Ministry of Defence, tasked with the protection of Alorian territorial land, waters and air space. This force shall be referred to as the Republican Defence Forces - RDF (y Lluoedd Amddiffyn Gweriniaethol - LAG; die Republikanischen Verteidigungskräfte - RVK). (2) In order to ensure that the RDF is able to function properly in case of armed conflict, we propose the creation of a national conscription services to be activated in times of war. During peacetime no mandatory military service shall be required of Alorian citizens. |

| Message | Mr Speaker We are pleased this bill has been tabled. We need to retain a full time military. I was astounded when the bill that scrapped the full time military was passed by this House. We disagree with forcing Alorians to participate in a war, however we think, on balance, we will support this bill. Bert Keller, ANP Leader |

| Message | Mr Speaker This sets a dangerous precedent for the future of our military strength. This shows the world we are weak, and unable to defend ourselves. I'm disappointed with my colleagues tonight, for I think this will be the most damaging vote we have had. I hope to work with the DCP and the Defence Minister to work out how we move forward.
