Bill: Republic Transition Talks
Details
Submitted by[?]: Authoritarian Luthori Alliance
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 4147
Description[?]:
Firstly, we would like to address the concerns of those that support a republic but are not forgiving our parties past. The Republicans are a completely reworked party from the ALA, with new leadership and new views. While still far right, compared to the ALA their views are far more moderate. We want to maintain the status of Luthori as an Empire and as such want the head of state to remain as an emperor. However, the change we are suggesting is that the emperor is chosen by the people rather than is simply hereditary. We will leave this in debate until a consensus is reached on how best to proceed, as well as an agreement on the best title for the head of state. Our suggestions are below and we are obviously happy for any others. Suggestions (all can have "Luthorian" before or "of Luthori" after emperor): Emperor The People's Emperor Elected Emperor Divine Emperor Holy Emperor Heavenly Emperor Blessed Emperor Sanctified Emperor All Benevolent Emperor Chosen Emperor |

Message | Mr. Speaker These proposals are mad, it is clear to the Genn family in all its glory that instead of electing the Empress we should be using her to protect our rights. This includes if if was Mary or myself on the throne. You sir must get over this view of destroying our Empire. We will instead put up a counter proposal within the next few days. Message | "Mr Speaker The Republican Party clearly doesn't have regard for tradition, culture, history and success. The monarchy in Luthori has ensured relative stability and a high standard of living that is the envy of the world. The crown also ensures that politicians cannot fully run the nation and creates a sensible balance and separation of powers, that ensures the government remain free and accountable to the people of this nation. therefore out of the respect for tradition, culture and government stability, the Rural Party will oppose the formation of a Republic." - The Hon Hermione Edwards MP Leader of the Rural Party of Luthori |
