Message | Have you gone mad? You are proposing this nonsense. I am afraid we must vote no to all proposals. Count Vladimir Borisov |
Date | 01:57:19, November 22, 2016 CET | From | Trigunskie Federalisti | To | Debating the Economic Revitalization Act |
Message | The Trigunskii Federalisti understands the National Front's desire for change. We agree that some is needed. But we also believe that this law goes too far. Seeing as we have no seats in the legislature, we can only advocate for the stoppage of this law. We shall do so on an article-by-article basis. We have no objections to Article 1. We do have objections to Article 2. Strikes have been used legitimately to correct real mistreatment in the past, and it is folly to assume that we will never see such problems again. The Trigunskii Federalisti recommend allowing employers to fire strikers whose strike has been deemed unreasonable. We object to the centralization of government authority in Article 3. There are still refugees in this world, and they need places to go. As a great power, blessed with great economic strength and security, Trigunia has the capacity to aid them. The Trigunskii Federalisti recommends a policy of accepting victims of extreme circumstances and offering integration aid. Therefore, we object to Article 4. We object to the centralization of government authority in Article 5. For reasons stated above, we object to Article 6. The Trigunskii Federalisti recommends a policy of allowing all workers to strike, but requiring that employees of critical sectors provide minimum service, allowing them to protest unfair treatment without interrupting the wider society. |

Message | As a show of courtesy to our Federalist deputies, we will justify the bill though it may yield no additional chances of passage. We propose Article 1 as a consumer protective measure to combat the fraud rampant in an unregulated liberal economy and to restore confidence and trustworthiness in our business sector. We propose Articles 2 and 6 as recognition that it is the duty of our government to ensure workers do not face abuse or unfair conditions in their jobs. Strikes are dangerous symptoms of class conflict and disruption to our economy, as well as risks to businesses that disincentivize hiring, and must be prevented. Leaving the responsibility for enforcing fair working conditions to workers is an undue burden on both workers and employers, and an abandonment of our sovereign duties. We propose Articles 3 and 5 as protective measures to ensure our economy's independence and security from subversive or foreign threats. It is our government's prerogative to acquaint itself with the origins and purposes of the money flowing into the country from abroad, and it certainly our prerogative to ensure the security of institutions as economically vital as the stock exchanges. We propose Article 4 as a measure necessary to both protect domestic workers from unfair and undeserved competition, as well as protect the cultural integrity and security of Trigunian society. |
