Preamble:- recognizing that the government needs to strengthen its attempts of making the population away of its past and current affairs through media related means, this legislation calls for the creation of a government service which will promote inform, inspire and educate the population through information services. Article 1: The Government Information Center There shall be a government media and information agency, called the Government Information Center or (Regjeringen informasjonssenter) and its functions shall be as follows:- (a) to allow for the dissemination of public information to the various news media and the general public. (b) to facilitate informative and qualitative information for the education of the public might it be children, adolescence and adults. Article 2: The Functions of the Government Information Center The functions of the Government Information Center shall be as follows:- (a) To act as an information clearinghouse on data, audio and video technology, and will make it available to the public (b) To establish a base infrastructure as it pertains to data, audio and video technology. (c) To maintain and uplift the information distribution standards through media related means (d) To oversee the maintenance & management of the Public Library System Article 3: The Government Information Center and the National Library System The Government Information Center shall act as the curating body of the National Library System and shall use the information of the libraries to compile information for:- (a) the research on specific topics of discussion. (b) the research of topics centered around historic and educations backgrounds. The Government Information Center will fuse the knowledge of the National Library System into its information distribution system, where by information would be broadcasted via the internet and state-owned and subsidized media. Article 4: The Government Information Center and the Media In order for the Government Information Center to be effective it must use the power of the media. The Government Information Center will, with the assistance of a state-owned and subsidized media channels, called Channel 17 and Radio 145.5 FM. With these media outlets the government information center will be able to distribute information to the public via television and radio. But this should not leave out the internet, as a website under the name of the Government Information Center, shall be established where many may obtain information from the National Library's Historical Archives. On the passing of this legislation the Government Information Center shall come into immediate effect. |
