MessageFirst, it costs money. As a capitalist, I do not believe that the State should be taking my money to waste on its projects. Second, feature creep will ensure that life will become increasingly difficult to survive without using this ID card. Even though it is supposedly voluntary, more and more venues will insist on me presenting it before I can obtain goods or services and it will be become de facto compulsory.
