Bill: Constitutional Convention-4127

Details

Submitted by[?]: Freeborn Luthorians/Freeborn Coalition

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 4147

Description[?]:

It has been proven that the Luthorian Government and people can make choices that are objectively bad for them. We need to write a Consitution that would protect the rights of all Luthorians.

Planned Liberties to be defended
-The right for an adult individual to bear arms unless mentally unstable or violently criminal.
-The freedom from and of religion. Restricting the Nation's ability to enforce Religion or non-Religion on any Luthorian Citizen or person living in Luthori.
-The freedom from unwarranted search and seizure. Restricting the militarization of the Luthorian Police force.
-Ensuring that members are always popularly elected by their voters. Instead of having the Emperor or other body every appoint the Diet
-The Equality of all people in the Holy Luthori Empire socially. Such as banning segregation in Public institutions and ensuring that privately segregated institutions are segregating equally, instead of having one segregated area be superior in service or materials.
-That all Luthorians have access to Public Educated and Healthcare, with these Public sector industries being non-sectarian in nature.

Institutions to defend:
-The Luthorian Monarchy in any form. Prohibiting the formation of a Republic by Constitutional law.
-The Luthorian Military in it's current form. Prohibiting the Diet from abolishing the National Military

MessageMr. Speaker,

Surprisingly we actually agree with the vast majority of proposals put forward by the LPU. I would like to commend them on their willingness to afford many of these liberties and we look forward to the LPU continuing to work in this civil and agreeable fashion.

However we do strongly object to the 3rd Article (Police searches) and the 7th Article (Republic Prohibition). We strongly value the police force and all it does to maintain a safe nation that is free of crime. We cannot allow for their powers to be restricted in any way as we firmly believe that if you are not a criminal you have nothing to fear, and if you are, you deserve to be imprisoned.

We would also like a confirmation as to whether an elected monarch falls under "The luthorian monarchy in any form" or a "republic". The republicanism we are advocating for is very atypical as it is not simply electing a member of the party to be a President, but rather endorsing an individual without political affiliation to become Emperor. As we have stated before, the people of Luthori should have a voice as to who is their Emperor and we believe this is the process that may achieve that, whilst still maintaining some separation between government and head of state. I hope you take our proposal into consideration, and I hope our parties may heal the deep divide that has grown between us. Thank you for your time, I yield.

Charles Winston,
Republican Leader

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, it is the responsibility of players to ensure the candidate boxes on their Party Overview screens are filled in with appropriate names. If a player is allotted seats in a Cabinet bill and has not filled in names for the relevant candidate position, then the program will automatically fill in the positions with names which might not necessarily be appropriate for the Cultural Protocols.
