| President Octavius Black has taken sole control of key government offices following what is believed to be a "row" with key members of his cabinet. All Baltusian Republican Party ministers mysteriously disappeared from their positions in what some commentators are calling a purge. It means President Black now directly controls the offices of Foreign Affairs, Defence, Infrastructure and Transport, Health and Social Services and Education and Culture. It is not known at this stage what has happened to the senior Republican figures who include the prominent Foreign Secretary and Dundorfian nobleman Jen II von Thaller. However, it is believed their two parties had fallen out over international trade policy. President Black was unavailable for comment but Majority Speaker of the House Ralph Mason said: "It is business as usual. People do not need to worry about these matters - the President will take sole control of these offices until the right candidates come forward to take up the positions. This is a matter for the President alone." As the news emerged, protest groups gathered in the capital's main square to speak out against the President's unprecedented unilateral decision. However, heavily armed Patriotic Security League Troops were also deployed to defend government buildings. "The situation is very tense," said one government official, who wished to remain anonymous.
