Bill: Parliamentary Privilege Reform

Details

Submitted by[?]: Freedom Socialist Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 4131

Description[?]:

We firmly believe that our representatives in the Parlament can't be censured in their actions. That would mean a ugly turn to a State of Exception, something none of us would like to see. On the other hand, this is a democratic country that is based on equality. We belive this concept has to be endorsed not only in the social aspect, but on the political side as well. If a citizen is not allowed to spill prejudices and hate-filled speeches in a public forum, why would we allow our political class to be exempted of that? We think it's safe to say that all parties have complete confidence in their members to allow this bill to pass, trusting that this would be a mere formality. But one that shows the people that this society is not based on any kind of privileges, not even parliamentary ones.
