Message | Mr. Minister of Defense and Former Prime Minister, It's a honor to have you here on this discussion. We commend you for honoring you great history in antagonizing such an absurd article. Supporting the military doesn't mean embracing old prejudices and being conservatives (in the worst sense of the world). It means to defend the ones responsible for our defense, being homossexual or not, man or woman, old or young, black or white... We hope this bill receives enough "no" votes, in respect to all of those who fight for us, or at least are willing to do so in our honor. But we still appreciate your party's position, even though the vote goes in a different way than ours would. Dr. Douglas Coutinho PhD in History and Education President and Founder of the People's Coutinho Party |

Message | Article 1 is a moral atrocity, and under no circumstance would we ever condone any attempt to demonise homosexual members of our military: these are all incredibly brave, hard working men and women who deserve immense respect for their service. With regard to Articles 2, 3 & 4, we can find no reason to allow the use of land mines - the use of which is unethical, or to alter current arrangements with regards to the separation of the military and police, or to force young men and women into service. - James Stone Labour Defence spokesman |
