Mr. Speaker

With the controversial nature of nuclear power, we feel that we shouldn't force it onto everyone. Rather, we should let regions decide their stance on nuclear power and whether or not a state wishes to embark on a nuclear future.

MessageFellow comrades,

We would love to make a intervention on this matter, one of such significance to the development of our country. Yes, nuclear power is a sensitive matter. There are a lot of specialists raising amazing points on both sides. But this proposal doesn't touch that debate. As a matter of fact, the only thing it does is putting all of the responsabilities of such a huge issue on the hands of the local governments. We shouldn't do that, it would be negligent, if you excuse our passion. Nuclear power is way too expensive and potentially dangerous to let the local powers decide independently of this Assembly what to do with it. We shouldn't comminute this issue like that. If the Congress wants to debate the issue of nuclear power, we should do that right here and come up with a decision. But we just can't wash our hands and let said decision be a fragmentary one.
