Bill: Cabinet Proposal of January 4133 - Coalition of the Right
Details
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 4133
Description[?]:
Our partnership with the Solentian Workers Movement, has accomplished many great things but we feel that this relationship has come to an end. Following recent comments by a 'financial candidate' who said SWM may be reconsidering their commitment to the coalition and private communications from the SWM to SUN demanding we submit proposals to their party first for approval, (haha) we are considering a more stable and productive arrangement. We have attempted to work with the Left, but if this is the way the leading party operates then we will use this historic opportunity to create a Coalition of the Right; nationalists, conservatives, restorationists. |

Message | Having morals? Even though SUN has more seats than you and would have won the election if not for the SDP endorsing you, you believe that SUN has to get approval before submitting their own proposals to the senate. That is madness and wild overreach on your part. Kurt Meyer, NRP Leader |
Date | 18:19:14, December 10, 2016 CET | From | SUN | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of January 4133 - Coalition of the Right |
Message | SCP told us what they want and we gave them twice that. Mind your own business, SDP. :) |
Date | 18:28:33, December 10, 2016 CET | From | SUN | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of January 4133 - Coalition of the Right |
Message | "As usual, the SUN wants all the major ministeries and dumps the minor ministeries at the feet of the SCP and Unionists." Heath/Human Serivces, Foreign Affairs, Justice, even Infrastructure (the Ministry we just spent hundreds of billions on) are not major Ministries SDP is either ignorant or lying. Either way, not a trustworthy party. |
Date | 18:44:15, December 10, 2016 CET | From | Social-Democratic Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of January 4133 - Coalition of the Right |
Message | The ministeries of internal affairs, finance, defence and head of government overshadow all of them I am not going to mind my own business, ever heard of a coalition? |
Date | 18:45:42, December 10, 2016 CET | From | Social-Democratic Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of January 4133 - Coalition of the Right |
Message | Since we are still part of the same government, it is my job to check on you. Seems like you need to learn something more about politics |
Date | 19:57:35, December 10, 2016 CET | From | SUN | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of January 4133 - Coalition of the Right |
Message | Yes, you occupy Food/Ag and Trade. At least SWM is smart enough to vacate now and save face. Strange how you didn't complain about those roles being minor and you clutch onto them now even though you know it's over. You are just trying to poison the well for the next guy. Sad. |
Date | 20:10:08, December 10, 2016 CET | From | Social-Democratic Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of January 4133 - Coalition of the Right |
Message | I am not trying to ruin anything for the next guy. I just alert the SCP that they can get so much more out of this proposal. And according to your very quick and hostile reaction, it seems like you know exactly what I mean |
Date | 20:12:47, December 10, 2016 CET | From | SUN | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of January 4133 - Coalition of the Right |
Message | Smiley faces are hostile to you. Haha. |
Date | 20:16:47, December 10, 2016 CET | From | Solentian Nationalist People's Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of January 4133 - Coalition of the Right |
Message | SDP, I fail to see how SUNs post could cause you any hostility. |
Date | 20:30:40, December 10, 2016 CET | From | The Solentian Workers' Movement | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of January 4133 - Coalition of the Right |
Message | NRP I don't think you quite understand how a coalition works. It's about collaboration, not just trying to stick parties together so that they can form a majority. I was right to ask if we could have a little more input into government proposals as since joining the government my party didn't receive a single message from the SUN despite them proposing many things that were clearly against our party's main policies. You might want to be a puppet of the SUN, a conservative party, but our social democratic party certainly doesn't. |
Date | 20:31:16, December 10, 2016 CET | From | The Solentian Workers' Movement | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of January 4133 - Coalition of the Right |
Message | Also the SUN's post does seem rather hostile. |
Date | 20:57:49, December 10, 2016 CET | From | Social-Democratic Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of January 4133 - Coalition of the Right |
Message | "Mind your own business" does not sound very welcoming to me. Furthermore, the SDP continues to man the ministeries of Food and Agriculture&Trade and Industry to hold the little bit of the coalition we have together until another cabinet is installed. |
Date | 21:05:17, December 10, 2016 CET | From | Solentian Nationalist People's Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of January 4133 - Coalition of the Right |
Message | So "collaboration" in your terms is demanding a sovereign party to submit their future proposals to you for approval. That isn't democracy, it's censorship. If SUN proposed things you didn't like, it's their right to do so. The SUN doesn't have to cooperate with you if they don't want to. The reason you form a coalition government is to deny one party a majority. You didn't want SUN in your coalition because you would each vote on eachothers bills, it was because you wanted a decisive control over the senate. The NRP is no puppet of SUN, believe me. We may share some similar views, but the NRP doesn't vote on everone of their bills and neither does the SUN in regards to us. It seems more likely that you and the SDP are in cahoots, seeing as you vote the same way 71% of the time. |
Date | 21:20:40, December 10, 2016 CET | From | The Solentian Workers' Movement | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of January 4133 - Coalition of the Right |
Message | No demands were made, we expressed our disapproval. Coalitions are about some degree of collaboration. We don't have to cooperate with them either, but I apologise, you do seem to know exactly what I was thinking when forming a coalition with the SUN (not.) It wasn't to gain control of the senate, I'm happy to be a strong opposition party, it was about collaboration. You don't know the history of our two parties (the SDP and the SWM.) |
Date | 21:55:18, December 10, 2016 CET | From | Coalition for National Unity [CNU] | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of January 4133 - Coalition of the Right |
Message | "We strongly refute the idea that major areas of investment such as Health, Transport or Agriculture are somehow inferior to mainly administrative departments like finance or the laughably powerless internal affairs. To suggest such is a major miscalculation and demonstrative of fundamental misunderstandings as to the functions of Solentian governance." Jenstor McKivan, Unionist Legislative Lead |
