Message | Beacuse free trade increases overall trade, which is good for all nations involved. Even where our goods are put in an unfair position by protectionist trade barriers they are still exposed to a market where the quality can be seen by all, if they are good enough they will still be purchased and if they are purchased some suitable publicity, which can be aided by our embassy staff can put subtle pressure on the government involved to lower or remove their barriers. Finally, we view free trade as in international right of all humans, and so in itself that is reason enough. |
