Bill: Pollution Control Bill 4136

Details

Submitted by[?]: Patriotic Party of Baltusia

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 4136

Description[?]:

Baltusia's economy relies on agriculture and mineral extraction industries (OOC: Economic Power ratings). The heavy pollution regulations we have in place are firstly not required and, secondly, costing businesses too much money.

We ask members of Congress to re-consider.

Casper Blowhart, Trade, Industry and Environment Spokesman

MessageMr Blowhart,

These measures put in place are not to be a nuisance or hurt our economy. Rather, these measures are (unlike what you said) necessary in order to protect the well being of the public and, as a result, current legislation is in the public's interest. Whilst we understand your concerns, we ask of you to think about the many who are killed from pollution in Baltusia every year, something bound to get worse if we were to loosen restrictions.

- June O'Briley, Environment and Tourism Secretary

MessageI understand your concerns Ms O'Briley but we need to find a balance between saving the environment and protecting the economy.

The Highly restrictive standards that are in place right now (not my words but the words of the current law) are making it nearly impossible for businesses to be productive. Our economy will never grow if our businesses aren't given the right environment in which to flourish.
